AUSTRALIAN ARMY BASE REPAIR FACILITY UPGRADE

$1.5M test system to perform automated board level diagnosis of the top 20 most commonly repaired Australian Army radio sets.

Services provided:

  • Technical consultation and development of drivers & user interfaces for over 20 instruments
  • Consultation to handle the 22,000 test steps and 2,000 sub sequences
  • Fault finding and problem diagnosis of the test system hardware & software
  • Preforming formal verification procedure

CAMERA SLED

Design and development of a control system and intuitive human machine interface for automation of a cinematic camera dolly.

Services provided:

  • High power and precision system design & hardware integration
  • Software drivers for the joystick & motor
  • Touch screen interface

AUTONOMOUS FIXED WING AIRCRAFT

Complete development of autonomous control system for fixed wing aircraft

System features include;

  • Integration of Industrial grade hardware for environmental resistance and system reliability
  • Field-Programmable Gate Array system for autonomous flight control
  • Slingshot launcher

POT WASH ROBOT

Design and development of an embedded control system for a three axis water jet cleaning robot deployed on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner production line. The robot systematically cleans the inside of pots that contain the residue of a toxic resin used in the production of carbon fiber parts.

Services provided:

  • Design of the control system
  • Wiring and assembling all control system components
  • Programming in IEC 61131-3 Structured Text language
  • Commissioning & debugging the robot onsite

HIGH PERFORMANCE WHEELCHAIR

Design and development of a production prototype embedded control system with graphical user interface.

STERILISATION ENVIRONMENT MONITORING SOFTWARE

Development of a desktop based monitoring & reporting system for ethylene-oxide sterilization system.

  • Collection of data from 3rd party control system
  • Display of the data in real time
  • Graphical user interface to allow drag and drop selection of data to be exported
  • 24/7 system uptime

ROYAL NORTH SHORE HOSPITAL

Development of a digital acquisition system for the Pain Management Research Clinic

The System;

  • Collects data from load cells & temperature sensors
  • Filters and formats data
  • Displays the data in real time
  • Stores the data for later analysis

MACHINE VISION

Development of machine vision software that was used to locate a man in high visibility safety gear. The purpose of the system was for search and rescue.

To complete the task the system did the following:

  • Used height data for the drones IMU to calculate field of view (FOV)
  • Calculated, on the fly, the capture rate based on ground speed data from IMU and FOV
  • Processed captured images on-board for colours within the high visibility wear range
  • Cropped captured images to isolate “Hits” to be wirelessly transmitted back to the operator

MOBILE EXPLOSIVES MIXING UNIT

Development of a user interface and control system for a truck mounted bulk explosives delivery system.

Features of the system include:

  • Dual touch screen user interface
  • Wireless communication of information into customer billing systems
  • Significantly improved explosive mixing process with precision feedback control
  • Large scale deployment to over 140 vehicles delivering over 1M tonnes of explosives per month

WEAPONS DEVELOPMENT

Design and development of a high speed data acquisition system for measuring the pressure inside of a medium caliber machine gun’s suppressor.

Services provided;

  • Specify a sensor to withstand the enormous temperature and pressure developed inside the barrel during live automatic fire
  • Specify adequate acquisition hardware to measure the very short duration of each shot
  • Design and implement a software architecture to perform the measurement as well as format and display the results to the user
  • Create efficient software to achieve the required performance out of the Real-Time VxWorks based controller.

CINEMATIC CAMERA STABILISATION SYSTEM

Design and development of a six axis cinematic camera stabilisation system.

  • Specification of all inertial sensors
  • Specification of global position sensors, linear & rotary encoders
  • Custom electronics & PCB development for all on-board electrical systems.

POWER DISTRIBUTION AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR UAV

Design and development of intelligent power distribution system for use on heavy lift UAV

TITAN MKV UNIVERSAL AERIAL PLATFORM

Complete design, development manufacture and testing of mid-sized UAV for use with high value payloads

INDUSTRIAL TANK VOLUME CALCULATOR

Development of turnkey software package for calculating volumes of large capacity tanks.

Features of the system include;

  • 0.1% volume accuracy for tanks up to 60000L
  • Intuitive UI with built in support for 5 unique vessel heads.
  • Automatic export of G-Code for use with dip-stick engraving system.

CSIRO GAS FILTERING CONTROL SYSTEM

System update and deployment of monitoring and control system for use in gas filtering process.

Features of the system include;

  • Monitoring and control of pneumatic controls and pressure sensors
  • Time based switching between gas filters with system controlled back-washing
  • Remote email and cellular notifications of system operation/faults.

DAUGHTERCARD for NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS SBRIO 9607

Design and development of EMI/EMC compliant daughtercard for National Instruments sbRIO 9607 embedded processing system.

Features of the system include;

  • System wide best practice approach to EMI/EMC protections
  • Controlled signal integrity for high speed communication
  • Extensive interface including; high speed serial communication, GPIO, Protected Power Outputs and Gigbit Ethernet
  • Additional integration with SATEL 433Mhz modem for long range data communication.

LIVE POINT CLOUD MATCHING SYSTEM

Full system design, development, manufacturing and testing of lightweight LiDAR surveying system

Features of the system include;

  • Live matching of LiDAR measurements to inertial measurement data/GNSS data up to 1,000,000 points per second.
  • Calibrated high accuracy sensor placements for maximum data fidelity
  • Intuitive UI for system control and data post processing for increased accuracy
