The Customer

Global processor designer and manufacturer, Intel, was tasked for the 2015 Vivid light festival in Sydney to have an interactive drone and lighting installation available for the public of all ages to use.

The Problem

Multiple untrained members of the public needed to operate microdrones in a GPS dead zone in moderate winds and light rain and fly together within a 6x6m area without colliding and last for the full 18 day long Vivid festival.

The Technical Solution

Our team of software developers, electrical engineers & industrial designers developed a customised tech hardware product with the following key features:

The Outcome

The installation was a huge success at the Vivid Sydney festival, attracting many patrons who were interested in flying a drone, many for their first time. The system operated without fault for the full duration of the festival and Intel secured their position as a regular display provider for the Vivid Festival.
